How to Peel Off Almonds: Quick and Easy

Almonds are generally considered hot in nature. Eating raw almonds is considered a factor behind oily skin and pimples in young kids. So, it becomes very imperative to give them special treatment specially during summer. Therefore, I always recommend using peeled off almonds in my certain dishes like Almond Halwa and Almond Burfi
I am hereby explaining a very simple method to get peeled off (skinless) almonds.

Method 1:
Prep Time: 5 to 6 Hours

  • Soak the almonds in water for at least 4 to 5 hours.
  • You will see that the skin is lightly shrunken.
  • Blot the almonds dry with a paper towel or a clean kitchen towel.
  • Now squeeze them gently to remove the skins.
  • Let them dry and now your peeled (blanched) almonds are ready for your dish.

Method 2:
Prep Time: 10 to 15 Minutes

If you are in rush and need blanched almonds very quickly:

  • Take a pan and boil some water.
  • Now soak almonds in boiled water for 1 - 2 minute at the most.
  • Strain the hot water and rinse them with cold water.
  • Blot the almonds dry with a paper towel or a clean kitchen towel.
  • Now squeeze them gently to remove the skins.
  • Let them dry and now your peeled (blanched) almonds are ready for your dish.

No doubt, Almonds are considered one of the best nuts and a must for any diet plan. I have heard a lot of benefits of almonds for nourishing mothers, infants and growing kids. My grandma used to feed us almonds in our childhood. My mother in law prepared a special dish called (Sandha or Panjiri) containing almonds and many other dry fruits which is very healthy and nutritious for a nourishing mother.
You can eat almonds in many ways like raw almonds, roasted almonds, almond milk and almond butter. I love Almond Halwa which is quick to prepare and very delicious & healthy to eat. So, what are you waiting for? Use my easy to cook recipe for Almond Halwa and Almond Burfi.
